Eben Hamilton was called to the Bar in 1962 and took silk in 1981. He has a broad-based practice that embraces both chancery and company law, with particular expertise in company and insolvency law, directors’ disqualification, shareholders’ disputes, DTI inquiries and partnership law. His chancery practice is primarily contentious. He is regularly admitted to appear in the courts of Hong Kong and has appeared in the courts of Singapore and the Cayman Islands in complex company, insolvency and commercial disputes. Eben Hamilton was the DTI Inspector into Atlantic Computers plc between 1990 and 1994. He is a Bencher of the Inner Temple and sits as a Deputy High Court Judge in the Chancery Division. In 2004 he was instructed by the Financial Services Commission of the Isle of Man to conduct an independent inquiry into the conduct of certain directors' disqualification proceedings and to make recommendations as to possible changes to the procedures and practices in relation to the future prosecution of such proceedings in the Isle of Man.
