Comment:

The English Court had jurisdiction to hear claims where the first defendant was Irish, as it had jurisdiction over another defendant domiciled in England for the purposes of Regulation 44/2001 art.6. Both defendants were proper parties to the proceedings and the issues were so closely connected that it was expedient to determine them together to avoid the risk of irreconcilable judgments resulting from separate proceedings.
