Chodiev v Stein and restrictions on the use of documents

6th June 2016

Caley Wright acted as junior for the Claimants in Chodiev v Stein [2016] EWHC 1210 (Comm), successfully resisting an application pursuant to CPR 31.22(2) to restrict the use of documents which had been before the Court on a substantial summary judgment application. The judgment reconfirms the importance of the principle of open justice, which is one of public importance, particularly when set against the particular interests of litigants.
