Death, Domicile and the International Client

Thursday 22 Apr 2021

Mark Hubbard and Aidan Briggs

11am to 12pm

Many HNWIs live international lives with homes and assets scattered across the world and their place of residence is based on their tax planning.

This webinar looks at what happens when international clients die and specifically at the law or laws that will apply to their worldwide estates and the powers of the English Court over those who die domiciled there but resident offshore.

  • Can you choose the law(s) that will apply to succession on your death?
  • What are the rules that apply if you can’t or don’t?
  • Variation of offshore trusts and international enforcement of orders under the I(PFD)A 1975.

The session will last for one hour and there will be an opportunity for questions at the end.
